I am always a little scared when going into a Comic Book movie sequel, they don’t have the best track record. Most of the time they try to stick a few extra villains in the film to sell merchandise and it clutters up the film. Spider-Man 3 is a perfect example I think that movie was mostly villains and it turned out to be a right mess.
Iron Man 2 does it right, The Main villain is Mickey Rourke’s “Ivan Vanko” character and Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) was more of Tony Starks enemy than Iron Man. So I believe it was a good balance, There was a lot of characters in this movie both new and old but I still think it worked. I liked this film, not as much as its predecessor but it was shit loads of fun and will probably see it again. Robert Downey Jr. Does a fantastic job as Tony Stark again and Don Cheatle plays a enjoyable portrayal of Jim Rhoades, but to be honest with you I think Terrence Howard had better banter with RDJ in the first film. Scarlet Johansson did a pretty good job as Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) and she looked fantastic in all her fight scenes. Samuel L. Jackson played himself in this film for some reason but he wore an eye patch so i guess it was a different character. There was also a lot of build-up for the upcoming Marvel films with the references to other “Avengers” peppered in. This was the 3rd Marvel produced film and they haven’t had a misstep yet. Thor comes out next year and i believe so does Captain America so i think we have a bit of time to see what they do next.
Over-all I think the film was damn fine sequel and a real fun movie to watch. Check it out and till Next time Thanks for Reading
